Yesterday was my 30th Birthday. Jeff stayed home to watch October rather than working (he’s earning extra money doing curriculum development this summer). I got to sleep in until 11am — minus the few times I had to get up to pump milk for October, then I went shopping and got a pedicure. Then I was told we were going for a walk (since October had been stuck in her carseat doing errands with Jeff all day) before heading to Red Lobster for dinner. Jeff even asked where I’d like to go for a walk at. Traffic was HORRIBLE yesterday so the state park near our house was my suggestion (which was crucial to Jeff’s plan). I changed into some comfortable clothes to go walking in and we headed off. At the park, we start walking and I see our friends, Bill & Becky, there and think what a coincedence but then as I look past them — there’s a picnic table with flowers and place settings out and realize that we’re not heading to Red Lobster but having a picnic in the park. Then our friends wheel October away with them and Jeff & I stay for dinner. It was really nice. We had chicken picatta (also served at our wedding) and noodles, with a spinach salad and pinot noir wine. And Jeff made a wonderful raspberry crepe with dark chocolate sauce. Yummy!!

Aparently when we were at the park earlier in the year, there was a birthday party going on and I had said “I want my birthday in the park” well that’s what I got. There was another birthday party going at the same time. Jeff bought me a silver locket to put October’s picture in so that I’ll have her close to me when I have to return to work.

Has anyone else been watching “America’s Got Talent?” How tall do you think Regis Phillbin is? What, you hadn’t noticed? Okay, watch next time, as contestant after contestant is taller than Regis. I mean he must be five foot three?!? He’s constantly dwarfed by nearly everyone he is on stage with! It’s one of the more amusing aspects of the show.

So I think every woman has difficulty finding jeans that fit well. And for years at my pre-pregnancy size I would try on 6-7 pairs and have 1 fit well and 1 other fit pretty well and the rest just fit terribly. But yesterday when I went shopping I took 6-7 paits into the dressing room at JcPenney and they all fit!!! Well!! They weren’t in my pre-pregnancy size but I was jonesing for a pair of pants that didn’t have an elastic waist! Of all the jeans I tried on, only one fit pretty well and the rest fit well! And I think the pair I choose look great! I guess I just needed a bit more padding to help my jeans fit better!
