So I finally went and got myself a cell phone. I did however get a pay-as-you go version so I didn’t have to committ to a contract, plus I’ll use it lots now and little later and I can always upgrade if I want. I will admit that when I’ve used others cell phones they were convenient but I’ve resisted getting one. And usually at home we had DSL so we needed the phone line anyway. The salesman must of thought I was insane or had been living on another planet with the questions I was asking. I didn’t know if you could get voicemail if your phone was off OR if you were charged regardless if someone called you or you called them OR how many times I could drop it before it’ll break OR how to set-up voicemail OR if people could here you just as good with a flip one or a regular one … I was there for probably a good. I asked how “Rough & tumble” the phone was and he said the non-flip phone version is pretty solid. It came with all the accessories and a ear-piece was included… which actually I really like just to use instead. I practiced retrieving voicemail, I did have to use the manual for this one. I left myself a message using another phone and then in trying to retrieve I actually left 2 more messages for myself where in 1 you can here me breathing and the other mumbling “I don’t know how to check my messages” but I figured it out!

I even changed the ring tone and it’ll beep when I have a message and I changed the background color. I even have Jeff on voice recongntion with a little “heart” icon that appears when he calls from home! We’ll see how it works when he finally makes it home to call. (he’s at the Riersons & Hirschmans right now).

I did leave Jeff instruction on how to post a blog so we’ll see….. should we take bets?

I’ve emailed my cell number to you all — if you didn’t get it email me (I didn’t want to post it here). – amanda
