We don’t have a garage. But during the summer months especially we tend to treat our cars as if they were garages. Our little 2 door Red Toyota Echo has a doubler stroller riding shotgun and a tile saw, single stroller and other miscellaneous tools in the trunk. Oh – and don’t forget the meat thermometer in the console…I know that I baked my buns at 110 degrees when I drove to work today! My Toyota Sienna has all three kid seats in the middle row, leaving the entire rear and a large car top carrier affixed to the roof to haul crap belongings. In my garage I have:
- Two children’s bicycles.
- A toddler push car.
- Two – 31 gallon Rubbermaid storage boxes. One containing outdoor toys: sand pails, shovels, rakes, outdoor dolls, sandcastle building supplies. The other with a complete camp kitchen of a stove, propane containers, pots, pans, a lantern, foil, paper plates, utensils, matches, a tablecloth, dish pans, clothes line and two-year old sparklers.
- A six man tent & a 4 man tent. (Dependent on the campsite size of course).
- A pack n’ play.
- 5 sleeping bags, 4 sleeping pads.
- 3 kids folding lawn chairs, 3 adult folding lawn chairs (I guess we’re hoping for a friend).
- 2 diaper bags.
- 3 marshmallow roasters.
- A large blue tarp.
- A roll of garbage bags and a green sand pail to be used for bathroom emergencies.
- A red wagon.
- One bundle of leftover campfire wood.
- 5 gallon water cooler.
- Small pillow and blanket.
- A gazillion random Cheerios’s.
- Always one less My Little Pony or Polly Pocket than the children “need.”
- 4 books on CD.
- A battery/AC electrical/USB converter.
- 1 large inflatable pool lounger.
- 1 electrical air pump.
- And a complete 8 piece bathroom vanity set purchased at the HD this weekend……..
that is some SERIOUS car packing!!
